We survived a lllloooonnngggg road trip to Kansas to see family. It has been almost five years since our last visit, before Piper was born! Now that we are closer (and close to a pet sitter) we can resume our annual visits. Everyone enjoyed themselves and surprisingly it wasn't as stressful a trip as I thought it might be. We found a half price book store that was offering an additional 20% off for Labor Day...the clouds parted, a radiant glow shone down and angels began to sing their chorus, I swear I was in heaven on earth! Other than allergies kicking our butts in KS, everything was great!
I had my first book review published on The Novel Goddess! It is my dear friend Pam's site so please follow her blog of you want to read some good book reviews (not mine, hers)!
School is in full swing for both girls. Piper is full day on Monday and Wednesday and half day Friday. Liberty now is released 15 minutes later so the days are long for both. Top that with TKD, Brownies, and therapy sessions and I am back to being chauffeur. But one good thing is more time to get things done while Piper is in school. I even managed a run on Wednesday.
Jon and Susan have been plotting and planning for our next big run and I have to say that it is going to be epic! Yes, I do really mean EPIC! We are planning to register this spring for the next Pikes Peak Ascent! That is 13.1 miles and a gain of over 7000 feet in elevation to the top of Pikes Peak. HOLY WOW! I am actually psyched for this and grateful that I have a long time to train for such a feat. With the cooler temps approaching I am actually looking forward to some cold night run again. There is only so much heat I can stomach running in.
I read these books this past week:

I'm looking forward to reading:
I'm taking a challenge to find a song that would be my theme song at this moment. That said, this might not be me tonight, or tomorrow or in 5 weeks, but as of this moment it is me! I am also addicted to this song currently and that might be why I am identifying it with 'ME' in this moment.
Do you want to win a copy of a new book by a great author? Brenna Yovanoff is offering if you can meet her challenge. Check out the info and her site here: Brenna Yovanoff. Her new book is The Space Between and I have been waiting for it for...ages! I loved The Replacement--Mackie is a character I just could not stop thinking about long after I finished this book.
It is time again for my weekly list. The following are things I'm into, doing or thinking!
When hot is hot! These hotties are on my 'like' list right now! I also notice a trend, do you see it??
Jackson Rathbone (Currently in Twilight saga and the bad 100 Monkeys)
Unattainable in more ways than one (some boys don't like girls :))...Adam Lambert (singer/songwriter)
Yes, the trend is dark hair, beautiful eyes, and a bit of a bad boy image never hurt!
